2. Data We Collect
We collect minimal data to provide our AI cooking services. The types of data we may collect include:

Email address — used for account creation, authentication, and syncing your data across devices.

Pantry items — ingredient data you add manually or via AI scanning, stored to provide recipe suggestions.

Recipe preferences — your interactions with recipes (favorites, cooking history) to personalize your experience.

Purchase information — records of in-app purchases and subscriptions, processed through Apple App Store or Google Play.
•
Device information — anonymized device type and OS version for crash reporting and performance optimization.
3. AI Data Processing
When you use the AI Kitchen Scan feature, images of your pantry or kitchen are sent to Google Gemini AI for ingredient detection. These images are:

Processed in real-time solely to identify ingredients.
•
Not stored permanently on our servers or by the AI provider after processing.
•
Never used for advertising, profiling, or training AI models.
•
Transmitted securely using industry-standard encryption (TLS 1.3).
4. How We Use Your Data
We use your data exclusively for the following purposes:

Providing the core cooking assistant service (timers, recipes, pantry management).
•
Syncing your account data across devices when you sign in.
•
Processing and managing your purchases and subscriptions.
•
Improving app performance and fixing bugs through anonymized analytics.
•
Sending transactional emails (e.g., purchase confirmations). We do not send marketing emails.
5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only with:

Google Firebase — for authentication, database, and cloud functions (data processing agreement in place).
•
Google Gemini AI — for image-based ingredient detection (images are not retained).
•
RevenueCat — for managing in-app purchases and subscriptions.
•
Apple / Google — for processing App Store and Play Store payments.
All third-party providers are bound by data processing agreements and comply with applicable data protection regulations.
6. Data Retention

Account data is retained as long as your account is active.
•
Pantry and recipe data is stored until you delete it or delete your account.
•
AI scan images are discarded immediately after processing and are never stored.
•
Purchase records are retained as required by law (typically 7 years for financial records).
•
Upon account deletion, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days.

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

AI Kitchen Timer is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it promptly.
